I’m a Multi-Media Artist and Writer living in the Fingerlakes Region of Upstate New York. I discovered I was an artist at the age of nine…during a homework assignment on African Tribal Culture.
I think of when I “became” an “Artist” and I realize that I never did “become” an artist. Being an artist was not a choice I had. I was born an artist and have been fortunate to have been encouraged to express myself through various media that I am attracted to and enjoy with passion. At times I have an idea that I try to express. At other times ideas that want expression pressure me into a place that I have to work. This is the tougher part. It is like a birth. An irritation will begin to grow. I will not perceive it always as the beginning of a new idea. Something is wrong I think…I worry. Finally I have no choice but to discover why my life has become out of balance. I will write or draw and as soon as I start the creative process something deep inside of me says “aaaaaahhh”.
